The museum was designed and built within the area of the City Pillar Shrine of Suphan Buri, on the west side of the Suphan Buri River, along Malaiman Road, Ruay Yai Subdistrict, Mueang Suphan Buri District. It was established to present the history and culture of the Chinese people in Thailand, as well as the history and culture of China, as a memorial to the 20th anniversary of Thai-Chinese diplomatic relations in 1996.
