Saint Anna Church

Saint Anna Church is located in Bang Ya Phraek Subdistrict and was built in 1888 during the reign of King Rama V under the leadership of Father Pio, a French priest. This Roman Catholic church houses a statue of Saint Anna, towering over 8.5 meters and noted as the largest in Asia. The statue can rotate a full 360 degrees. Saint Anna holds the esteemed position as the mother of the Virgin Mary, the mother of Jesus Christ, and is venerated by Christians as a beloved grandmother figure. Notable features within the church include its octagonal design, specifically for conducting religious ceremonies, the Anna Lai School, and Saint Anna Pavilion, situated along the banks of the Tha Chin River.
