Wat Sothon Wararam Worawihan

"Wat Sothon Wararam Worawihan is the most important temple in Chachoengsao province because it enshrines 'Luang Pho Phutthasothon,' the revered Buddha image of the province. Every day, the ubosot is filled with incense smoke, representing the faith of people from all over who come to worship and ask for blessings from Luang Pho Phutthasothon. The Buddha image is believed to be very sacred, ensuring abundant crops and good health. The original Buddha image, made of bronze, is a meditation pose with a lap width of 1.65 meters and a height of 1.48 meters, created in the Lan Chang art style. It is said that this Buddha image floated down the river and was enshrined at Wat Sothon Wararam Worawihan since 1770. The original bronze Buddha image is encased in a stucco covering for protection, and the new ubosot was built in the Rattanakosin style to house it. A replica of the Buddha image is available for public worship as well."
