Wat Chaiyaphum Tharam

Wat Chaiyaphum Tharam is a historic Buddhist temple located in the Bang Phra sub-district, Mueang Chachoengsao district, Chachoengsao Province. It is a royal monastery under the Mah?nik?ya sect and is situated at 49 Moo 2, Bang Phra. This ancient temple, established in 1877 (B.E. 2420), is located by the Bang Pakong River. Locally, the temple is known as "Wat Tha It," a name derived from a legend dating back to the late Ayutthaya period. It is said that a merchant trading Mon bricks traveled by boat along the Chao Phraya and Bang Pakong rivers and stopped at the temple's riverside. The local people began referring to the area as "Tha It" (Brick Wharf), which eventually led to the name "Wat Tha It" for the temple. Later, the temple was officially named "Wat Chaiyaphum Tharam."
